Greek minister of state’s Athens house targeted again

A group of around 30 assailants in the early hours of Sunday attacked the home of Minister of State Alekos Flambouraris in the downtown Athens district of Exarchia.

The property has been targeted on another two occasions, with assailants throwing rocks and other objects. In the most recent incident, a police officer responding to reports of the attack was lightly injured and three cars were damaged.

Commenting on the assault, government spokeswoman Olga Gerovasili said: “we inform all manner of hooligan as well as their eager instigators that the members of this government will not and cannot be bullied or blackmailed.”

Opposition New Democracy also commented on the attack, calling it “completely condemnable.”
