To Potami on Friday reacted to the UK referendum results, while calling the EU to undergo “bold changes.”
“Unfortunately we have been defeated. The populists played on fear to ‘conquer' England and Wales,” the centrist, pro-European party said in a statement.
“Europe must pause and think. Brussels are in need of radical changes, politics requires courage. The EU has shot itself in the foot. The price of things has been elevated into the ultimate value,” it said.
“We hope that this historical mistake will be corrected as soon as possible.”
Official results released early Friday showed the “Leave” side prevailing 52 per cent to 48 per cent in Thursday’s vote, which had a turnout of 72 per cent.
