Golden Dawn welcomes ‘brave decision’ of British people
Greece’s neofascist Golden Dawn party on Friday welcomed the outcome of the British referendum on EU membership describing it as a reaction to German-inspired austerity policies across Europe.
“Golden Dawn welcomes the brave decision of the British people to deny the ‘crows’ of Brussels and the financial oligarchy of Germany,” the party's press spokesman Ilias Kasidiaris said.
Kasidiaris said the EU has undermined Greece’s national sovereignty, promoted illegal immigration and prevented the debt-hit country from pursuing closer ties with Moscow.
“A direct consequence of Brexit will be the empowerment of patriotic and nationalist forces across Europe,” Kasidiaris said.
