Greece needs to get its house in order now more than ever. The country needs to be ready to weather the storm that Europe has been thrown into after the UK referendum last week.
The simple fact is that if Greece goes looking for more loans, it is more than likely that it will have the door slammed in its face in countries where Euroskeptics and isolationists have the upper hand.
Meanwhile, the sirens of populism will become all the more beguiling to many people all over Europe and in Greece as well because of the overall climate of uncertainty and fear.
We should shut our ears to their calls and instead head in the opposite direction, with a serious plan. Greece needs to be buttressed against the turbulence around it right now and against the storms to come. Our leaders today must rise to the challenge of the present circumstances.
