AmCham head calls for swift wrap-up of Greece’s second review

The recently re-elected head of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, Simos Anastasopoulos, has issued a fresh call on the government to implement the reforms it agreed with its creditors and wrap up the next bailout review rapidly.

“Besides the recessionary repercussions of the fiscal measures, we will also have to operate in a new European environment that will neither favor the restoration of liquidity nor tolerate prolonged negotiations for closing the second review,” said Anastasopoulos, who returned to the chair of the chamber last Thursday.

“It is therefore imperative that the government is focused on the reforms that will improve the competitiveness of our economy, open up the products and services market, balance out the recessionary measures and signal the return of Greece to normality and to investors’ radars,” stated Anastasopoulos.
