Man tries to commit suicide at social security office
A 65-year-old man in Lamia, Central Greece, was hospitalized on Tuesday after reportedly slashing his wrists with a pocketknife at a local branch of the OAEE social security fund for self-employed professionals.
According to local media, before pulling out the knife, the man told an OAEE worker: “I’ve paid all my bills. Why are you hassling me?”
Witnesses told police investigating the incident that the 65-year-old man had been robbed a few days earlier and had been under a lot of stress, Lamia Report said.
