Police officer to stand trial for forging documents
A prosecutor in Thessaloniki has ordered a police officer to stand trial for forging documents that allowed him to enter the force in 2002 as a border guard.
An internal investigation revealed that he had forged a document that increased his ratings in the police’s points system.
As an officer he earned more than 200,000 euros over a 14-year period.
It was the third case over the last week involving individuals in northern Greece who used forged documentation to join the police force.
