Forest fire breaks out near Ioannina

A forest fire broke out in the area of Neochori, about 18 kilometers from the town of Ioannina, northwestern Greece, at noon on Tuesday, authorities announced.

According to the ANA-MPA news agency, seven fire engines and 25 firefighters were battling the blaze.

The fire did not threaten residential areas, local officials said.
