The Greek National Opera presents a new production of Georges Bizet’s popular opera “Carmen” at the Herod Atticus Theater on July 24, 26, 27 and 29. The 140-year-old opera is directed by Britain’s Stephen Langridge. Shows start at 9 p.m. and admission ranges from 20 to 100 euros. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling 11876. The performances are part of this year’s Greek Festival. Tickets for Greek Festival events can be purchased at www.viva.gr as well as at the festival’s box offices on 39 Panepistimiou St, inside the arcade (open Mondays to Fridays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and the Herod Atticus Theater on Dionysiou Aeropagitou St (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 6-9 p.m. daily).
