Assistant to Turkish military attache from embassy in Athens arrested in Turkey

The assistant to the Turkish military attachee in the Turkish Embassy in Athens has been arrested in Turkey, according to reliable sources.

The man, a sergeant major, had been on holiday in Turkey at the time of his arrest, according to souces.

There was no confirmation from the Turkish side.

The development came amid reports that around 1,000 Turkish military officers and soldiers believed to have been involved in last weekend's failed coup remain at large.
