Indifference to violence

Those who resort to violence and extreme forms of  protest are getting increasingly out of control.

Nevertheless, they have every reason to display this kind of behavior.

The reason is that the Greek state allows them to act with impunity and leaves the property of the public and of individuals unprotected, apparently indifferent to such phenomena.

The relaxation of security measures in vital areas around the Greek capital has led to unprecedented activities next to the Presidential and the Maximos mansions, for instance.

This is a slippery slope that will never come to an end unless there is some rudimentary political willpower to impose law and order.
