Full light on Noor 1 case

The Noor 1 heroin smuggling affair, which made headlines in June 2014, has ignited a fair share of controversy among the Greek public.

On Thursday, one of the judges in the case was targeted in a bomb attack, which was thankfully foiled after the intended victim realized something was amiss.

A number of key witnesses in the case have been eliminated over the previous months. However, law enforcement authorities have failed to provide answers to crucial questions regarding the case and a large number of suspects still remain at large.

Except for the obvious need to protect the country’s judges who are fulfilling their duty in the midst of extremely adverse conditions, it is also important that the authorities take all the necessary steps to dispel skepticism that this case has not been fully investigated and that guilty parties may be getting away with their crimes.
