Boy hit by speedboat on Zakynthos regains consciousness
A 7-year-old boy who suffered serious head injuries off the coast of the Ionian island of Zakynthos when he was hit by a speedboat, has regained consciousness, his doctors said over the weekend.
The boy, who underwent neurosurgery at the Patra University Hospital in western Greece, will remain at the clinic for another 20 days before entering a physical rehabilitation program in Athens, doctors said.
The three people who had been aboard the boat which hit the boy have been arrested. The exact circumstances of the accident remain unclear.
