Attica region to take over complex

Ownership of the landmark eight-block apartment complex on Alexandras Avenue in Athens, which was built in the 1930s for Greek refugees from Asia Minor, is to pass to the Attica Regional Authority, which will have the task of renovating the run-down structures – known in Greek as Prosfygika (refugee buildings) – that the Council of State ruled in 2008 should be listed.
