Riot police officer gets life sentence for killing daughter
A 48-year-old police officer who was convicted of strangling his 7-year-old daughter in June in Evosmos, Thessaloniki, was sentenced to life in prison on Friday.
The officer, who was a member of the riot police, had turned himself in.
In his defense, he told the court that he was suffering from psychological problems.
His wife, the child’s mother, said she could not understand why he did it.
