Early Music Festival | Athens | October 1-15

The Early Music Festival takes place at St Paul’s Anglican Church in central Athens on Saturday, October 1, Friday, October 14 and Saturday, October 15. The festival features ensemble Ex Silentio, the Athens Early Music ensemble, soprano Fanie Antonelou and baroque harpist Flora Papadopoulou under the artistic direction of Dimitris Kountouras. The event’s program showcases an “Homage to Guillaume de Machaut, Virelais, Rondeaux and Ballades” on Saturday, October 1, followed by “Tales of the Middle Ages: Medieval German Folk Songs and Songs of the Troubadours” on Friday, October 14, followed by “Odi Euterpe,” an Italian monody from the early 17th century on Saturday, October 15.
