Award-winning US director, screenwriter and producer Bob Roth, chiefly known for his work in TV series such as “Prison Break,” “The Insiders,” “Lost,” “Grey's Anatomy,” “The Mentalist” and “Criminal Minds,” as well as films including “Heartbreakers,” “Circle of Power” and “Independence Day,” talks about the film and TV industry at the Onassis Cultural Center on Thursday, September 29, and Friday, September 30. A Los Angeles native, Roth has also made a series of documentaries on directors, screenwriters and other film professionals titled “A Director Prepares.” On Thursday, a series of screenings will take place from 4 to 9 p.m., followed by a discussion with Roth at 9.15 p.m. On Friday, September 30, the focus turns to the process of film producing, with the screening of 10 educational films, starting at 5 p.m. Roth will be available to answer questions following each film. There will be simultaneous translation from English into Greek. The event is taking place with the support of the American Embassy in Athens. Admission is free of charge and based on a first-come, first served basis, with entrance tickets distributed one hour before the event.
