Spending cuts. Greek households’ average monthly expenditure declined by 40.95 euros last year compared with 2014, Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data showed on Wednesday.

Greeks cut down on 11 out of the 12 spending categories, including food, housing and education.

The only exception was healthcare services, that rose 1.2 percent year-on-year.
