Military, police personnel protest over pay cuts
Military and police personnel were on Wednesday staging a protest outside the General Accounts Office in central Athens over cuts to their salaries.
Protesters were requesting a meeting with alternate Minister of Finance Giorgos Chouliarakis to discuss the issue.
The Council of State, the country’s highest administrative court, earlier this year upheld an appeal by military and police personnel against reductions in their salaries carried out by the government in 2014.
