Athens suburb declares Obama persona non grata
US President Barack Obama has been declared persona non grata by the municipal authorities of Kaisariani ahead of his visit to Athens on November 15-16.
In a statement, the municipal council said that it stands by those that oppose the American leader’s visit because it will take place “while the forces of imperialism clash in the wider region” and because it will occur “on the eve of the November 17, the day marking the popular uprising against the American-sponsored junta.”
The council also said that will take part in the marches and rallies that are being organized to protest the visit.
