Two arrested with bogus travel papers at Evros border

Two Turkish nationals aged 32 and 50 were arrested on Sunday at the Evros border in northern Greece on charges of using invalid travel documents, authorities said.

According to early reports, the two men, who wanted to enter Greece, arrived at the border crossing in a German-plated vehicle.

The 32-year-old presented a German passport and ID but a check revealed that the documents had been canceled by German authorities, as they had been issued based on false information.

Officers also discovered a small quantity of unprocessed cannabis in the car. The suspects faced a local prosecutor over the weekend.
