Labor relations to be discussed with creditors’ representatives
Labor Minister Effie Achtsioglou will be the first minister to head into the new round of talks for the second bailout review starting on Tuesday in Athens, in what the new minister admits will be tough negotiations about the future of labor relations in Greece.
Despite repeated references by ministry sourses in recent days to a memorandum prepared by Achtsioglou with potential agreement points and the guidelines of the Greek side, as it turns out the minister will not submit it to the creditors. Instead she will start the talks focusing on the restoration of collective labor talks, the expansion potential of sector labor contracts, the protection of the existing dismissals limit and the maintenance of the lock-out ban.
Also on Tuesday the chief representatives of the creditors will discuss the new privatizations hyperfund with the government, and examine the feasibility of having the review completed by the December 5 Eurogroup.
