Transport services to be disrupted as workers protest austerity

Rolling strikes by public transport workers over cutbacks are to cause disruption over the coming days with no services on Friday on the Athens metro and tram before 10 a.m. and no service on the electric railway (ISAP) between noon and 4 p.m.

On Monday, November 21, there will be no service before 10 a.m. on ISAP. On Tuesday, November 22, there will be no service on the metro and tram between noon and 4 p.m.

On Thursday, November 24, there will be no service on ISAP after 9 p.m.

Transport disruption is expected to continue through November as workers protest the government’s privatization plans and demand job security.
