‘Substantial convergence’ in talks with creditor envoys

Government officials and foreign envoys representing Greece's international creditors completed another day of negotiations on the implementation of the country's third bailout with "substantial convergence," Finance Ministry sources said on Monday.

Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, Economy Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou and Energy Minister Giorgos Stathakis were among those to participate in Monday's talks which covered a range of areas on Monday including banking, justice and fiscal issues.

Details are to be hammered out over the next few days, according to sources at the Finance Ministry which is preparing to submit the budget for next year to Parliament.

Athens is hoping to conclude a bailout review in time for creditors to give concrete assurances on debt relief before the end of the year.
