Athens Street Pole Vault event among Europe’s top
European Athletics, track and field’s supreme authority in Europe, has included the Athens Street Pole Vault meeting, that takes place the Greek capital every summer, in the list of the Special Premium events for next year.
The well-organized international event will be held for a fifth time in Athens on June 1, 2017. Just like in 2015 and 2016, it will be hosted at Syntagma Square.
Greece has evolved into a global force in pole vault, with Katerina Stefanidi earning gold in the Rio Olympics, with Nicole Kyriakopoulou and Costas Filipidis regularly being among the best in the world, and with Emmanouil Karalis breaking the world Under-17 record last spring.
