No decision at EWG on short-term debt relief, talks to continue

Tuesday's Euro Working Group in Brussels ended without a unanimous decision on whether to unlock the short-term debt relief measures that had been temporarily put on hold due to the Greek government's pension and VAT handouts.

"There was a discussion about the possible choices that would allow the short-term measures to be implemented," said a European official, who added that there was no consensus at Tuesday's meeting.

The deliberations will continue on Wednesday and a final decision is expected at the end of that meeting.
