Tsakalotos: a third of prior actions under 'political negotiation'

In a statement released on Thursday, Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos said that a third of the prior actions Greece must carry out as part of a bailout review have been "totally completed," another third are "totally agreed" and the rest are subject to "political negotiation between Athens and international creditors.

Tsakalotos also lashed out at the leader of opposition New Democracy, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, saying he does not understand "the dynamics" of the negotiation currently under way between Greece and its lenders.

Noting that all sides have made it clear that everything must be agreed as a package, Tsakalotos said, "it is logical then for the government not to show its hand until the other side has done so too." "In any case only extremist voices believe that the Greek government is responsible for any delays."

He also lashed out at Mitsotakis for refusing to respond to an overture by Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for the forging of a cross-party national "front" that would reject the "irrational demands" of the International Monetary Fund.
