TEDx, one of the world’s leading forums for exchanging ideas and thoughts on a variety of social, political and philosophical issues, returns to Athens on Saturday, May 13. Taking place at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center (SNFCC) on the city’s southern coast, the theme of this year’s event is the unknown and our perception of reality. Guest speakers include Tom Gash, a senior fellow at the Institute for Government and an honorary senior lecturer at University College London’s Jill Dando Institute of Security and Crime Science, Leon Logothetis, a global adventurer and philanthropist who gave up a career in finance for a life on the road, journalist Ilias Anastasiadis, editor in chief of Oneman.gr and author of “Monday,” a book on his experience of gambling addiction, and Maria Kakali, a fisherman’s daughter whose commitment to social change saw her become mayor of the small remote Aegean island of Aghios Efstratios.
