Suspect arrested in connection with police murder
A 36-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in the area of Mandra in western Attica, for an alleged murder assault on two officers of the Dias motorcycle unit last Saturday. According to police, the suspect sped off in his car when a Dias unit hailed him to stop on Saturday night.
A car chase ensued, and the suspect, when trapped and surrounded by police, rammed his car into a Dias motorcycle and tried to do the same to another.
The two passengers in the car made a run for it, as did the driver who was later found by police hiding in a house in Mandra.
