Asset Register, fuel flow data put off to 2019

The creation of an Asset Register (Periousiologio) may have been announced some 10 years ago but it remains on paper only. According to the business plan of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue, it will not be fully operative before March 2019.

The IAPR has undertaken numerous duties in the context of the bailout program, and this is delaying the implementation of applications that would help contain tax evasion.

The objective of the Asset Register is the creation of an online record of all types of assets belonging to taxpayers and corporations, and this is absolutely necessary as an instrument for implementing tax policy.

Another important application that is being put off, even though it could assist significantly toward combating the illegal fuel trade, is the inflow-outflow system which according to the IAPR business plan will also remain inoperative until 2019 in that monitoring authorities will be unable to utilize the data coming from the existing system.
