Prosecutor challenges disciplinary action over Vgenopoulos probe
Appeals prosecutor Georgia Tsatani has taken recourse to the Council of State, the country’s highest administrative court, to request the cancellation of a ruling by the Supreme Court’s disciplinary council over her handling of an investigation into the late prominent businessman Andreas Vgenopoulos.
Tsatani was suspended without pay for 60 days after the council ruled she breached the court’s rules and code of conduct while handling the probe into Vgenopoulos, the main shareholder in Cyprus’s Laiki Bank before it collapsed.
