Kids to illustrate smoking dangers on World No Tobacco Day

The Hellenic Society of Cardiology will be marking World No Tobacco Day Wednesday by launching a competition coordinated by the Education Ministry whereby students from across Greece will submit drawings to do with smoking and its consequences.

Smoking is responsible for at least 1,000 heart attacks per year in Greece, according to the society. Children exposed to secondhand smoke are at increased risk of heart attack or stroke in adult life.

Doctors also discourage use of e-cigarettes.
