La Divina’s effects on display at Athens museum
A visitor to an exhibition at the capital’s B&M Theocharakis Foundation looks at a maxi tunic, part of an ensemble crafted by Italian designer Biki, which was worn by the late Greek opera singer Maria Callas for the official premiere of Pier Paolo Pasolini’s film "Medea" in 1969. Titled "Maria Callas – The Myth Lives On," the exhibition showcases more than 200 of Callas’s personal effects, including theater costumes, pieces of furniture, jewelry and letters from friends, relatives, and artists. The foundation organized the exhibition to mark the 40th anniversary of Callas’s death. [Costas Baltas/Reuters]
