Navy commander calls for indictments over Gulf of Corinth pollution

A Hellenic Navy commander has formally appealed to the Supreme Court prosecutor’s office to indict those responsible for the ongoing environmental disaster in the Gulf of Corinth.

According to the lawsuit filed by Panayiotis Stamatis, the main reasons for the environmental disaster are overfishing and pollution, which have resulted in a significant increase in the jellyfish population.

Similar appeals to the Supreme Court have also been filed by local environmental groups.
