Police nab Athens park mugger
Police in Athens Monday detained a 25-year-old Afghan man in connection with at least two muggings at Pedion to Areos park in downtown Athens.
The suspect and two accomplices allegedly mugged a man in the park earlier in the day, taking two cellphones and an unspecified amount of cash.
The victim reported the mugging to police who tracked down the 25-year-old. The suspect is believed to be behind another mugging of a foreign national in the park.
