Robber detained in southern Athens
A 23-year-old man was detained in Alimos, southern Athens, on multiple charges of robbery Tuesday.
The suspect is believed to be behind a string of robberies in the southern suburbs. According to sources, he would don a mask in his pre-dawn raids on fast-food outlets and hotels, and force staff to hand over cash at gunpoint.
Police seized an air gun and the vehicle he is believed to have used as a getaway car. After facing a prosecutor, the 23-year-old was to defend himself before an investigating magistrate.
