Sports Digest: PAOK hires Serb coach Stanojevic

SOCCER: PAOK announced the hiring of former Partizan Belgrade manager Aleksandar Stanojevic, who signed a three-year contract with the Thessaloniki club on Friday.

BASKETBALL: The Greek women’s national team stunned European champion Serbia winning 69-60 on the opening day of the 2017 Eurobasket in the Czech Republic on Friday.

TENNIS: Maria Sakkari got as far as the quarterfinals of the Nottingham Open, where she went down 6-2, 6-3 to Croatia’s Donna Vekic.
