SOCCER: In the second qualifying round of the Europa League Panionios will face the winner of the first-round tie between Shirak of Armenia and Gorica of Slovenia, according to the draw that took place on Monday. The Nea Smyrni team’s games are scheduled on July 13 and 20, with the first leg taking place in Greece.
BASKETBALL: The women’s national team lost 70-63 to France in its last group game at the 2017 Eurobasket in the Czech Republic on Monday and will face Russia on Tuesday for a spot in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
SOCCER: Greece defender Dimitris Siovas has signed a four-year contract with Spanish top flight team Leganes earning him 1 million euros per year. Leganes paid Olympiakos 3 million euros to acquire the player.
