Vouliagmeni beach thief arrested
A 19-year-old was arrested on Tuesday for stealing bags from swimmers at various beaches in Vouliagmeni in southern Athens. The man, an Algerian national, was arrested by officers of the DIAS motorcycle unit after a victim filed a complaint.
An investigation linked the suspect to seven other incidents of theft on beaches. According to reports, the man had been charged in the past for similar crimes. He appeared before a local prosecutor Tuesday.
