A late selling spree inflicted moderate losses on the benchmark of the Greek bourse on Thursday, taking it just below the 820-point mark.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 819.72 points, shedding 0.35 percent from Wednesday’s 822.62 points. The large-cap FTSE-26 index contracted 0.75 percent to 2,145.03 points, while the banks index expanded 1.03 percent as Alpha rose 1.42 percent.
In total 70 stocks advanced, 48 declined and 13 stayed put.
Turnover amounted to 44.2 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 62.2 million.
The general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia expanded 0.21 percent to 75.70 points.
