Mock dogfight over Aegean

Turkish fighter jets violated Greek air space in the northeastern, central and southeastern Aegean six times on Friday, leading to a mock dogfight between Greek and Turkish aircraft.

The Turkish jets – four F-16s and a CN-235 – also violated the Athens Flight Information Region four times.

Two of the four Turkish F-16s were armed, according to Greek defense sources who said the Turkish aircraft were intercepted in line with international rules of engagement.
