Mitsotakis meets with Serbian ambassador
Opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has vowed to promote Serbia’s European Union membership ambitions if he becomes prime minister.
The pledge was made during a meeting between the New Democracy chief and Serbia’s ambassador to Greece, Dusan Spasojevic, in Athens, on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the two men also discussed bilateral ties between Athens and Belgrade, and ongoing developments in the western Balkan peninsula.
On Tuesday, the European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia, David McAllister, urged EU member states to open new chapters in accession talks with Serbia by the end of the year.
