ND leader unveils 12-strong dream team

A few days after the main conservative opposition New Democracy announced an overhaul of its communications department, ND leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Friday unveiled a 12-strong team of new advisers aimed at bolstering the party’s bid to embrace a fresh, forward-looking approach.

The advisers – all technocrats who have already worked closely with Mitsotakis at one time or another – are to focus their efforts on boosting the work of the party’s shadow ministers.

The 12, who are to work under the broader supervision of constitutional lawyer Giorgos Gerapetritis, are chiefly young people, a mix of senior civil servants, academics and professionals in the private sector.

The most well-known members of the team are Stelios Petsas, who has been Mitsotakis’s personal adviser on fiscal affairs since last year, and human resources professional Revekka Pitsika.

Unveiling the team, Mitsotakis said the 12 “are with us in our effort to plan for the Greece that we deserve, combining studies, professional experience, enthusiasm and desire to participate.”

“With their experience and chiefly with their work, they have proven that they are able to propose solutions to the problems faced by our country,” he added.
