Ionian uni and college to be merged
The university and technical college (TEI) of the Ionian will be merged as part of cost-cutting measures, a meeting on the island of Corfu between Education Minister Costas Gavroglou and senior administrators of the two institutions has decided.
“We can’t have the same solutions for the all the universities and all the technical colleges, so we’re seeking understandings between the institutions,” Gavroglou said in comments explaining the process of mergers.
The minister assured that the merger would not result in job losses or affect graduates’ professional prospects, adding that the move would also mean the establishment of a tourism studies school on Corfu.
