Shopowner who fatally shot robber faces manslaughter charges

A 79-year-old man who shot an killed a 30-year-old would-be robber who entered his store near Drama in northern Greece has been detained on charges of manslaughter and illegal possession of weapons.

The elderly man fired his hunting rifle at the 30-year-old, who entered the former's store in Aghios Athanasios with an accomplice.

The 79-year-old was to face a local prosecutor as police probe the exact circumstances of the incident.
