Chios man fined for unchipped dogs
The sole resident of the remote village of Anavatos on the eastern Aegean island of Chios was fined 2,400 euros on Wednesday because the four dogs that live in the area had not been fitted with microchips.
According to local news reports, the deputy mayor of Chios, Nikos Karasoulis, described the fine as “unacceptable” and promised to look into the matter, while the island’s animal welfare association said it had nothing to do with the incident.
