Sports Digest: Skibbe angry with FIFA over Manolas ban
SOCCER: Greece manager Michael Skibbe voiced his anger at FIFA for the ban on Costas Manolas: “Sometimes FIFA makes some ‘special’ decisions, and this is a ’special’ one. I do not know how they decided that … What FIFA has done is not right,” the German manager stated on Monday.
TRACK & FIELD: Greek pole vaulter Katerina Stefanidi has been short-listed by IAAF for the female World Athlete of the Year Award for 2017, along with Ethiopian distance runner Almaz Ayana and heptathlon world champion Nafissatou Thiam of Belgium. Stefanidi has already landed the award for Europe’s best female athlete in the sport.
