More issues likely to hamper development of Elliniko

Market experts have identified significant discrepancies between the concession agreement for the Elliniko plot and the terms the Culture Ministry approved in the Integrated Development Plan and the Strategic Study of Environmental Effects for the project at the old airport in southern Athens.

Four main issues have been pinpointed, related to classifying 300,000 sq.m. as an archaeological area, to the reduction of the maximum height of buildings on the plot from 170-200 meters to about 150 m, the demand for a minimum distance of 100 m between existing buildings and new ones, and turning the Aghios Cosmas cape into an archaeological park.
