Compensation available for victims of Agia Zoni II oil spill

Those that incurred losses due to the pollution caused by the sinking in September of the Agia Zoni II tanker off the coast of Salamina in the Saronic Gulf near Piraeus will be able to receive compensation after the approval of funding by the International Oil Pollution Compensation (IOPC) Funds.

Claimants can seek information on the IOPC Funds’ website in both English and Greek. The committee agreed early this month in London that the funds will allocate 26 million British pounds, while another 25 million will made available in 2018.
