ATHEX: Bourse goes cold turkey

The Thanksgiving holiday in the US saw turnover on the Greek bourse drop to its lowest point since August on Thursday, with stocks presenting a mixed picture at the end of the session.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 720.56 points, adding 0.06 percent to Wednesday’s 720.13 points.

The large-cap FTSE-26 index expanded 0.05 percent to close at 1,882.13 points, mid-caps jumped 1.45 percent and the banks index gave up 0.01 percent.

In total 49 stocks advanced, 35 dropped and 23 stayed put.

Turnover came to 26.9 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 51.5 million.

The general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange in Nicosia declined by 0.04 percent to 71.57 points
